  • Initiative: Job Fair

This Employment Unit attended two Career Fairs in an effort to attract a diverse range of potential employees. Station personnel including announcers, sales reps and managers were at our booth during the events.

  • Initiative: Job Shadows

This Employment Unit participates in the Job Shadowing Program at a number of local high schools. Students observe and learn the skills required for different jobs in radio broadcasting and gain practical knowledge of the radio broadcasting business. During the reporting period, high school and college students job shadowed various positions, including on-air talent, producers, programming, production and the general daily operations of a radio station.

  • Initiative: Internship Program

The Employment Unit operates an Internship Program and accepts interns on a regular basis in various departments. During the reporting period, high school and college students completed internships in the news and programming departments.

  • Initiative: EEO Outreach

The Employment Unit airs, on a run-of-station basis, a pre-recorded announcement, which details our commitment to providing equal opportunity to all. The announcement was written and produced by the New Jersey Broadcasters Association and airs on the average of twice a day. Affidavits of performance are on file for the entire reporting period.
